Cummins Chief Snags Award

Tim Solso, CEO of Cummins, has won the WCBF Six Sigma CEO of the Year award.

“Six Sigma is one of the best things we have ever done. Last year we saved $340 million and completed 2,200 projects. Since the inception of the program in September 1999, we’ve saved or avoided spending a total of $1.4 billion, completed 7,500 projects and trained 6,000 belts with almost a million hours of training,” Solso reported at the May 2007 Cummins Annual Meeting.

And in case you don’t know much about Cummins they aren’t exactly a mom and pop organization.

2006 was the best year in Cummins’ history, with record revenues of $11.4 billion, record profits and record cash flow.

Oh, one more thing, Cummins was just named one of the top 100 places to work as well.  Well done Mr. Solso.  Well done.
