5S Simulation

5s-game.jpgI received my prize for my hard fought victory in the recent GembaPantarei 5S competition.  The prize was a 5S simulation game.  My 4 year old daughter has been after me to let her have a shot at it.  Yesterday was her lucky day!

I don’t want to give it all away and spoil the surprise for those of you that buy the simulation.  Let me just say it definitely drives the point home regarding the need for 5S.

I will say there are three rounds to the simulation and while I did have to simplify the simulation for my daughter it was still challenging enough to teach her (again 4 years old) how important 5S is.

The goal of the simulation is to complete a task as fast as you can, applying aspects of 5S after each round.  My daughters times for the three rounds were:

  1. 95 seconds
  2. 20 seconds
  3. 15 seconds

My sensei wife had to do the entire simulation… she was a bit cocky since she has been through 5S training back in her corporate days.  After the first round she came back to reality.  Her times:

  1. 47 seconds
  2. 16 seconds
  3. 8 seconds

If you want a challenging, quick, and fun 5S simulation this is the one.
